突撃インタビュー in フィリピン(マニラ)。オンライン英会話で教えている先生にインタビューしてきました。学校名がドンズバで分かってしまう質問はボカしています。
今後、シリーズ化する予定です。今回は記念すべき第一回目。
今回インタビューを受けてくれたのはMサン。だれでも知っているオンライン英会話での講師としての経験があり、まだ学生とのこと。

Q…What is your nickname, and how old are you?
A…Please call me M. I’m 25 years old.
ニックネームはMで25歳。
講師としての経験について
Q…How many years have you been teaching?
A…Four years.
4年。現在は勉強が忙しいのでやめているとのこと。
勤務形態はどうでしたか？
Q…Are you part-time or full-time tutor?
A…part-time.

Q…What kind of tutor are you？
A…Mostly, I teach business English and sometimes, I also teach beginner students.
ビジネス英語を中心に教えていて、たまに初心者も担当するとのこと。講師の立場だと、生徒を選ぶことができない。ビジネス英語が得意とプロフィールに書いているけど、初心者からもレッスンの予約があるそうです。
なぜオンライン英会話の講師になろうと思いましたか？
Q…Why did you decide to be an english tutor?
A…There was no special reason why I chose to be an online english tutor.At first, I wanted a part time job. I was working as a full time nurse at that time,so I thought a home-based job would be perfect for me.There are so many available online, home-based, part time jobs like being a transcriptionist, writer, etc.But I thought teaching English would be fun because I can talk to new people.
特別な理由なし。正社員の看護師として勤務していたので、フルタイムの仕事ではなく在宅でも務まるパートタイムの仕事を探していた。そのときオンライン英会話の仕事をみつけたとのこと。
選択肢がいろいろあるなかで、新しい人と話すことは面白いのではと考えオンライン英会話の講師を選んだそうです。
仕事をどうやってみつけた？
Q…How did you find tutor work?
A…I searched online about home based part time jobs.

採用試験はありましたか？
Q…Did you take an exam before becoming a tutor?
A…Yes. There are 2 proficiency exams and 2 interviews.
2つの技能試験と２つの面接あり。
チューターの研修はありましたか
Q…Did you take training before conducting lessons?
A…Yes. I have regular online and individual training sessions.
オンラインでの講習と個別トレーニングあり。
給与はいくらでしたか？
Q…How much is salary as tutor? is that good for you?
A…It depends on how often I work.
どれだけ働くかによるとの回答。少し踏み込んで質問してみると、ワンレッスン150ペソぐらいとのこと。週末（土日）のみ4レッスンで月5000ペソぐらいかなとのこと。およそ12000円（レート2.4で計算）講師になったころは1日16レッスンも担当していたらしい。

Q…How many students did you have?
A…More than 1000

Q…What do you think of japanese students?
A… Japanese students are very polite。They are very professional, and always punctual.
正直者。プロフェッショナルでいつも時間に正確。
嫌なことはアリましたか
Q…Have you ever had a negative experience teaching a Japanese student?
A…Yes. There were a few incidents when I had rude students.
数件ある。失礼な生徒を担当したとき。
学校への不満は？
Q…Did you have any complaints about your school?
A…In general, I am satisfied with my school and its policies, but it would be better if I can choose the students I will teach.
概ね満足している。生徒を選ぶことができたら、もっといいけど。
日本人はどうすれば英語が話せるようになるか
Q…Do you have any advice for beginner students to continue studying English?
A…First, they should have a clear reason to study (job advancement, travel, studying abroad, selfimprovement).They should set realistic goals for themselves.
They should not be afraid to make mistakes at first, and try to practice speaking whenever they can,without fear of committing errors. And, of course, they should enjoy.
まず、学ぶ目的をしっかり持つこと。間違えることを怖れないこと。
英語がまったく話せなくてもオンライン英会話で学ぶことができますか？
Q…Do you think someone who can not speak english can learn english online
A…Yes. It will take a lot of effort.
